What does YouTube Recommend You?
Ever wondered how YouTube suggests videos for you?
As I browse my YouTube homepage, I find these recommended videos relevant as it helped me discover more of the videos I love, especially those channels I subscribed. As you can see, I am a fan of Red Velvet and TWICE but YouTube also suggested songs from other KPOP group like EXO. Also, I am a big fan of Dr. Reina Reyes, the Filipina who proved Einstein right. You may know more of her here. 😄
On the other hand, I realized that these recommended videos were not only from those channels that I subscribed to but also from those channels that I recently or mostly watched. YouTube takes into account our watch and search history (if enabled), as well as our country and time of the day too! Amazing isn’t it? 😲
Finally, after exploring my homepage, I was able to watch more videos from TED-Ed, learn more about Astronomy from Archival Data by Dr. Priya Hasan, and hear more of my favorite KPOP songs! 😍
Overall, I am happy with what YouTube recommends me! ❤️
